BACKGROUND INFORMATION
When did you start bodybuilding, and where?
I started lifting in the gym when I was about 20. It was not until I was about 23 that I got serious and started to compete. Pretty much everything I have, I have learned from Bruce Lester. As far as how to do things the right way.
Explain your training style and philosophy.
I train hard and heavy, with a lot of intensity and usually to failure on the bigger lifts.  Example of routine: Monday (chest/calves), Tuesday (back), Wed (shoulders/calves), Thursday (legs), Friday (biceps/triceps).  Sat and Sun off to spend time with Dena.
Favorite body part to train?
I love to train my legs. I love the feeling of killing my legs and I love the pump. I enjoy going really heavy, especially squats. I like it when I get compliments on my legs knowing I work hard for it.
Least favorite?
Biceps, because they are one of my weaker body parts. I don't enjoy lifting them because I swear they don't grow.
What supplements do you take?.
ON (whey protein), Glutamine (5-10g) 2-3 times/day, NO-Explode, Animal pak, Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM Methyl Ripped and BCAA.
What is your precontest diet like?
I eat pretty clean year round to keep myself leaner. I used to let my body fat go in the off season but it makes it that much harder when I have to lose that much more weight for a show. At 16 weeks, I start off right away by carb cycling with a four day split. 100 grams for three days and then one day of 250. I keep my protein constant at 350-380 grams. Carbs are oatmeal, brown rice and veggies. Protein is chicken breast, egg whites, whey protein and a little bit of white fish. My cardio changes as it gets closer depending on how I am looking and as it gets closer to showtime.
What is the hardest part of precontest?
Toward the end pushing yourself to do the extra cardio and the extra sessions at night (daily doubles).  It's always hard when you friends want to go out or you just want to have dinner with your girlfriend and you can't because its either too late to eat or the food is just too bad.
How do you deal with it?
Just push myself through it. DISCIPLINE
What is the first thing you want to eat after a show?
Pizza and I have a bad sweet tooth. My girlfriend brings out the worst foods in me and my deepest cravings.
Best nutrition tip?
From Bruce Lester - "Keep it simple! If you complicate things and have to have all this variety and fanciness to your diet, then you wont succeed. You have to get your basic foods, find out your caloric and macronutrient needs, and then stick with it."
Do you have a trainer or coach?
Bruce Lester, I have learned a ton from this guy, pretty much everything I know.
Who do you admire in the bodybuilding world?
What would you like to achieve in bodybuilding long-term?
It would be cool to qualify for a national level show and compete.
