BACKGROUND INFORMATION |
When did you start training, and where? |
I started training at 24 Hour Fitness in Hillsboro, Oregon in October of 2006. |
Explain your training style and philosophy. |
Fitness is my hobby and a stress relief for me. I think we owe to ourselves to be healthy and happiness follows, so I have maintained a consistent workout routine for the past 3 years. |
Favorite body part to train? |
My favorite body part to train is my biceps. |
Least favorite? |
My least favorite to train is my back because that is when I feel the weakest. |
What supplements do you take?. |
I take a multivitamin and antioxidant on a consistent basis. When I am preparing for a show I add in a fat burner, flax oil, and BCAA's along with whey protein powder, |
What is your precontest diet like? |
Pre-contest I cycle my carbs 3 days low and one day high. My calories are low and my carbohydrate and fat intake are as low as possible. I am consistently eating protein and vegetables. |
What is the hardest part of precontest? |
The hardest part of pre-contest training for me is the morning cardio. I have to fit this in while working full time as a school teacher so this means a 4:30 am alarm. By Friday I am pretty tired. |
How do you deal with it? |
I try to get to bed as early as I can and I purchased an elliptical machine so I could workout at home. Also, I ran outside when I could just to keep from getting bored with a routine. |
| What is the first thing you want to do after a show? |
I wanted to drink a nice cold glass of water and take a nap. |
Best nutrition tip? |
Become knowledgeable about how different foods affect your body so you don’t feel like you are missing out on things. If you know that certain foods are truly bad for you, you don’t desire them as much. |
Do you have a trainer or coach? |
Yes, I could not have prepared for my first show without my trainers Leanne Marshall and Bruce Lester. They guided me on training, nutrition, supplements, posing, and gave me tons of emotional support. |
Who do you admire in the figure world? |
I think all the girls rock because they work so hard and project beauty and strength. |
What would you like to achieve in figure long-term? |
I would love to win a first place trophy. Also, I would like to compete after I have children just as a hobby to keep in shape and have fun. |
