BACKGROUND INFORMATION |
When did you start bodybuilding, and where? |
I started lifting In 2005, at 24 hour Fitness in Hillsboro when Bruce and I became workout partners. After receiving a few comments about my body, I decided to try my first show. |
Explain your training style and philosophy. |
I follow a traditional bodybuilding style. 9-12 working sets, 8-12 reps per body part. I really push myself by keeping track of my weights and reps in a notebook. This way I know where I was last time and try to push harder the next week. |
Favorite body part to train? |
I love working chest.....I always push hard on that day. I'm really strong in this particular area, so it always makes for a good lifting day.
|
Least favorite? |
I have never liked working biceps. The work is so much work for such a small body part.
|
What supplements do you take?. |
Lipo 6, Multivitamin, Antioxidant, Taurine, Vitamin C, Fish Oil, Joint Support, Milk Thistle, Vitamin B complex, L-glutamine....My body can really feel it when I'm missing these things.
|
What is your precontest diet like? |
BORING!!!! hahahahahaha!
I start ever morning with my protein pancakes and 1/2 cup of oatmeal (except my no carb days), my snacks all consist of whey protein shakes with a scoop of L-glutamine. All my lunches are some kind of white fish, usually tilapia with some basmati rice and my dinners are usually chicken with asparagus or broccoli. Pretty Basic!
|
What is the hardest part of precontest? |
FOOD!....workouts are easy, cardio is tough some days, but easy for the most part. My cravings for food are beyond the normal person. I love to cook, eat, and enjoy. To take that away for a period of 16 weeks is taking one of my main enjoyments in life. It's difficult, but I get creative.
|
| What is the first thing you want to do after a show? |
-Pretty much anything at that point.....my mom's peanut butter/chocolate bars were so good last year, pizza, a mountain dew, nuts, dried fruit.....any food or drink that wasn't on my meal plan for the past 16 weeks. |
How do you deal with it? |
I make protein pancakes when I'm craving sweets or drink crystal light. I vent on my boyfriend a lot or take it out in weights or cardio. It's hard. Sometimes I just have to take a nap and the feeling of frustration or the craving passes.
|
Best nutrition tip? |
Women are so different-accept it!!!! We hold fat...end of story. Cut out your dairy! Dairy and women do not mix when it comes to cutting.
|
Do you have a trainer or coach? |
My boyfriend, Bruce, carries me all the way. He is my motivator, meal planner, trainer, coach, friend, cheer leader, and everything I need to keep me going. He is truly my rock. A few close friends offer some support, which is wonderful as well.
|
Who do you admire in the bodybuilding world? |
Jay Cutler was the very first person I was turned onto in this world. He's smart and truly inspiring. If you haven't seen his One Step Closer dvd, get it. It was what kept me going last season. Mark Dugdale is another truly inspiring person. He maintains his family, his life, and his dieting. Both guys are truly fabulous supporting people within the bodybuilding world.
|
What would you like to achieve in bodybuilding long-term? |
I'm not sure. I want to go as far as my body and will power will carry me. Who knows where I will go. I may try the fitness side of competing out. Right now, I like the bodybuilding and I love the stage.
